FAQ’s

Just click on ‘Create an Account’ on the left hand side menu or ‘Register’ at the top of the page, complete your details, setting a user name and password, and click Register. You will then receive a confirmation email to say that you are now a registered user which contains a link to subscribe and activate your account. Click on the link in the email and then click where indicated.  This will take you through to the subscription sign-up.  In the drop down box click on the required number of users, then check the box if you want to have a hardcopy or CD-Rom subscription as well as online access, existing subscribers need to check the final box.  Click ‘continue’.  Decide on your payment method.  If you decide to pay by credit card you will be directed to a secure payment site, once you have entered in your details and your payment has been authorised you will get immediate access to the manual.  If you decide to pay on account then access to the manual will be granted once CIP have confirmed that you have a valid credit account.  You will receive an email once to inform you that access has been authorised and an invoice will issued for payment within 30 days.  If no payment is received your access will be suspended until the invoice has been settled.

Subscriptions last for one year. Ninety days before the year is up you will receive an email reminding you that your subscription is up for renewal, offering you a discount for early renewal. If you choose to pay on account, an invoice will be issued for payment within 30 days. If the account is not settled you will be sent a further reminder 30 days, then 7 days before the subscription is due to expire. If no payment is received then access to the manual will be denied.

If you are an existing hardcopy or CD-Rom user wishing to switch to the online service, then you will be eligible for a discount off the first years subscription. A saving of £115. Subsequent years will revert back to the full price of £165.

Yes, choose a user name and password that you are certain to remember. Passwords must be made up of both letters and numbers. You are advised to create a password that contains both letters and numbers and is at least 6 characters long

If you forget your password, go to the log in page and click on the forgotten password link below the password field. You will be sent an email containing a link that will allow you to reset your password. If you experience problems then email admin@cip-greenbook.com. And the administrator will instruct you how to proceed.

If you forget your user name then you will need to email admin@cip-greenbook.com, and the administrator will send you details of your user name.

Yes you can. Once in the required document within adobe acrobat, choose the select tool, select the area you wish to copy, then press copy and paste in to you destination document

Go to 'The Manual' and then click on the blue diskette icon next to the required section. You can then choose to view or save the section on to your computer.

Click on the 'The Manual' tab from the top menu. You now have two options:-

1. Click on the table of contents pdf and look for the required section. When you find it, click on the document and this will bring up your chosen section in a pdf document format within adobe acrobat.

2. Use the quick search box. Type your keywords or topic, for example 'Working at Height', press enter, the system will then list all the sections where this string of words appears. Click on one of the sections and the pdf will be uploaded in to adobe acrobat. To find the keyword within the document, you can do a search within adobe acrobat. Click on the search button on the top tool bar and type in your chosen word or string of words, and press search. Acrobat will then list all the occurrences of your search word, and you can click straight through to the individual pages.
 

Click on the links page and you should find a wide range of links to government organisations, trade associations and other information sources.

The online manual will be updated continuously, details of the date a section was modified or updated can be seen alongside the section in 'The Manual' page
